HISTORY of What's New? •Posted October 14, 2009 Creekside Place Apartments subsidy program will be accepting applications for the Project Based Section 8 Program (HAP) for 2, 3, and 4-bedroom units. Applications will be available October 15 through October 22, 2009, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday ONLY. Applications will be available at 9189 Gale Blvd., Thornton, CO 80260 at the Creekside Leasing Office. Completed applications may be returned on the same dates and times stated above, and must be received at The Creekside Place Apartments office no later than 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2009. Only (1) one card per family was accepted, multiple entries were voided. If your number is not listed, Adams County Housing Authority (ACHA) did NOT receive your lottery card by the required deadline. All cards accepted will be held in a pool and random drawings will be conducted by Adams County Housing Authority (ACHA) within the next 12 months. When an applicant’s lottery number is drawn, the applicant will be notified by mail for formal eligibility processing. After 12 months, numbers NOT drawn will be destroyed. 2008 Annual Report is available. Click here for the report. •Posted April 6, 2009 Adams County Housing Authority (ACHA) serves Adams County residents for whom conventional housing is unaffordable. We assist individuals, families, seniors and persons with disabilities throughout all of Adams County, including the rural and unincorporated areas. Our goal is to provide these households with quality, affordable housing options while supporting their efforts to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Our programs and services include the following: Public Housing, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, Housing Counseling, Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS), Financial Assistance Programs (rent/mortgage and utilities assistance) and a Homeownership Program. We also own and manage several affordable multi-family apartment communities throughout the county. Most are available at below market rents. The Housing Authority is an independent public corporation authorized by the state under the Colorado Revised Statutes §29-4-501. ACHA is a body corporate and politic which was officially organized in 1974 and has been a HUD approved housing counseling agency since 1978. The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) was created to address the series of problems arising from the significant number of foreclosed homes. These problems include property value loss, lost revenue both in the public and private sectors, the increase in incidents of blight and crime due to vacant foreclosed homes, and the shrinking mobility of loans for refinance due to lost equity. The program is authorized under Title III of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, signed into law on July 30, 2008. Through an allocation process based on need, Adams County will receive $4.6 million in direct federal allocations and an additional $2.75 million in state-directed federal funding. NSP was created to be a five-year program with a sunset date of July 30, 2013, after which time all remaining funding will be returned to the U.S. Treasury Department. Adams County has chosen the Adams County Housing Authority to be the managing partner of the County’s NSP activities, This funding can be used for a variety of activities designed to stabilize housing and eligible uses include the following:
All of these eligible activities will be pursued within Adams County. Proposal Details The Adams County Housing Authority plans to establish a revolving line of credit for the acquisition, rehabilitation, and disposition of foreclosed residential property. The Housing Authority is soliciting proposals from experienced lenders with the following terms:

•Posted March 27, 2009 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Adams County Housing Authority will hold a public hearing relating to its amending the 2009 Annual Plan that was submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on October 13, 2008. Interested citizens wishing to comment are invited to attend. The public hearing will be held on April 6, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the administrative office of the Authority at 7190 Colorado Blvd., 6th Floor, Commerce City, CO. The Authority will also accept written comments during the 10-day review period. A copy of the plan is available for review and comment submission from March 27, 2009 through April 6, 2009 during normal business hours at the administrative office of the Authority as well as on the agency’s website located at http://www.adamscountyhousing.com. •Posted March 19, 2009 The Adams County Housing Authority (ACHA) will be issuing Lottery cards for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. Lottery cards will be available for two (2) days only. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and Lottery Cards MUST be picked up at the Adams County Housing Authority offices located in the Adams County Department of Human Services building at 7190 Colorado Blvd, Commerce City CO in the main Lobby 1st floor. Incomplete cards and cards postmarked after the deadline will be destroyed. All accepted cards will be held in a pool and drawings will be conducted for the Sections 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program by Adams County Housing Authority throughout the next 12 months. The applicants who have their cards drawn will be eligible to apply for the Housing Choice Voucher Program. The lottery card numbers drawn will be notified by mail and will receive instructions and directions for final approval. Cards not selected within the next 12 months will be destroyed.

Click here for the report. •Posted Mar, 2008: 1st Annual Taste of Homeownership Fair The Homeownership Fair is an annual educational event to answer questions for people looking to buy a home. Experts discussed down payment assistance programs, credit counseling, obtaining a mortgage, home inspections, disability programs, foreclosure prevention. Housing Authorities from the metro area, Non-profits, Real estate agents, Lendors and Credit counselors provided educational classes and were available to asnwer questions about foreclosure prevention, credit counseling, the home buying process, and the home buying process.
